The Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Angela Merkel, and the Governor of the Federal State of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, jointly visited the IQ wireless stand at CeBIT fair 2009. They were welcome by the officer for astronautics of German Space Agency, astronaut Thomas Reiter, and the COO of IQ wireless GmbH, Holger Vogel.

The guests informed themselves on the development of “FireWatch” system from space technology to terrestrial applications. Dr. Merkel was especially interested in the activities of IQ wireless GmbH in the countries Greece and Australia which had been strongly affected by forest fires. Particularly, Mr. Schwarzenegger is looking forward to a first system to be established in his federal state in spring 2009.
